Haus Kunst Mitte is presenting the artist Elke Judith Wagner and the artist Frank Dornseif together as an artist couple for the first time in Berlin. After 30 years of withdrawal from the Berlin art scene, they are returning with works from their entire creative career.

For a long time, they did not publicise the fact that they had been a couple for 50 years, as Elke Wagner wanted to build her career independently of her husband. The fear that when an artist couple exhibits together, the private and the public become intertwined has so far prevented them from exhibiting together in Berlin, their main centre of activity.

The exhibition for the artist couple Elke Wagner / Frank Dornseif is the second that Haus Kunst Mitte has dedicated to the complex and fascinating theme of the artist couple. This marks the beginning of a series that will be continued in the coming years.
